Tuakiri: Join now, Join for free

Join the New Zealand Access Federation Tuakiri now as an early adopter, and use the service for free until the end of this year.

Tuakiri introduced

Tuakiri enables students, academics, alumni and researchers to get secure and seamless access to their computing resources and collaboration environments using one set of credentials granted by their home organisation. The home organisation provides the user with identity credentials and an authorisation process administered by the resource owner or administrator grants the user permission to the resource.

Join now to benefit from free access

Join Tuakiri now as an early adopter institution, and enjoy the service for free until 31 December 2011. As an early adopter your institution will embrace new technology: Pilot Federation Service Release 1.0 from Tuakiri, New Zealand Access Federation, launched on the 27 June 2011.

Introducing Tuakiri – NZ Access Federation

Progress towards a New Zealand Access Federation is hotting up. Tuakiri enables students, academics, alumni and researchers to get secure and seamless access to their computing resources and collaboration environment using one set of credentials granted by their home organisation.

Secure and seamless collaboration with Tuakiri

Tuakiri is the New Zealand Access Federation. Project work is underway for the establishment of Tuakiri, which is being funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST) and delivered by The University of Auckland.

Tuakiri will:

provide a legal structure within which NZ’s Research and the Higher Education Organisations can share a set of agreed policies, rules and identity for access to online resources.
provide capability for secure and seamless collaboration for the NZ Universities, Crown Research Institutes by 31 July 2011.
enable people to use their home institution credentials to connect to remote sites and online resources without releasing unnecessary private information.
enable con-federation services with the Australian Access Federation Inc. by March 2012.
